Designing the leader in farm-to-table education

Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture
Pocantico Hills, NY

The Stone Barns Center is situated on an 80-acre portion of the Rockefeller estate in Pocantico Hills, New York. Our mission was to introduce and promote this groundbreaking facility that serves to demonstrate, teach, and promote sustainable, community-based food production.

We worked with all constituent stakeholders—Center staff, marketing teams, restaurateurs, architects, educators, farmers, and investors—to help determine the editorial and visual approach for the facility. Our tasks involved the development of comprehensive identity, outreach, communication, and signage programs.

Everything about our work is sustainable: Signage materials are eco-friendly and modular to save on materials, the paper is recycled (made with wind-generated electricity), and the inks are soy based. Even the note cards can be repurposed: They contain vegetables seeds—just plant them and they grow.
