Spreading the Girl Scouts mission and message
We’ve worked with the Girl Scouts for several years, helping them expand and refine their mission. We are inspired by their vision and by the central role they play in the lives of so many girls and women. Here are a few recent initiatives:
The Journey Series
We created a series of six books, along with corresponding leaders’ guides, to help introduce leadership values and foster a respect for the environment. Each book is written and designed to age-appropriate levels, and each provides a unique combination of instruction and activity.
The Girl‘s Guide
to Girl Scouting
On the occasion of the Girl Scouts’ 100th anniversary, we created a set of six binder kits, one for each level of Girl Scouts (grades K-12).
Never before have all Girl Scouts’ materials been organized in one place. Each contains age-appropriate exercises, journal pages, worksheets, and badge logs. Most significantly, they contain newly-designed handbooks, the cornerstones of the Girl Scouts program.
BFF: Be a Friend First
Bullying is a huge issue among middle school-age girls, and the Girl Scouts recently embarked on an ambitious national awareness program, providing the tools and resources for girls and adults to begin to address and combat the problem.
We were asked to take a key role in the conceptualization, organization, and rollout of the initiative, called Be a Friend First. We created a set of communication tools that can be tailored for use by supporters, educators, and the media to implement the program on a local level.
The BFF symbol incorporates a blue ribbon, the symbol of anti-bullying awareness. We asked the wonderfully talented designer Jessica Hische to create the artwork.
